Our Christingle Service…

Posted by Reception Staff on Monday Dec 7, 2015 Under Uncategorized

Today, the whole school visited Silsden Methodist Church for a very special Christingle Service. We really enjoyed singing one of our nativity songs. Some children from each class went to the front to make a Chrstingle. We learnt that the orange represents the world, the red ribbon indicates the love and blood of Jesus and the dried fruits and sweets are symbols of the four seasons. We then lit the candle, which symbolises Jesus, the light of the world and said a prayer to bring hope to people living in darkness. When we got back to school we put our Christingle next to our Christmas tree to remind us that Jesus is the light, who came into the world at Christmas.
